According to reports, Major General Enenche made this revelation in Abuja during a weekly press briefing. He told newsmen that the war against terrorism and banditry was at the domination stage.
Furthermore, the Nigerian Army boss recounted the recent gun battle between the military and the terrorists. He noted that the battle favoured the military than the bandits.
Also, the Major General boasted that the developments signified that the game was changing rapidly in favour of the Nigerian Army.
Major General Enenche: Banditry Is a Common Attack in Nigerian
Moreover, he lamented that banditry is now a common crime in the country. According to him, it has gained popularity over the past few years. However, Nigeria is not the only country fighting terrorism and banditry. The social vice is seemingly gaining global recognition with overwhelming speed.
Major General Enenche reportedly revealed that the perpetrators of this havoc had, in the past years, called themselves “local vigilantes.” Also, he claimed there were no cases of death in the past two days. According to him, there hadn’t been any encounter. Too, the Major General said the Nigerian Army deployed the troops across the North-Western region to keep surveillance in strategic areas.
Speaking further, he noted that the intelligence investigative patrol of the force always provided them with credible information about the actual location of the bandits. He maintained that the term was always accurate with their investigation and reports.
The Army Boss Assures Nigerians of Maximum Protection
Expressing his gratitude, he thanked the patrol team for always providing them with accurate information. On the other hand, the army boss assured Nigerians of maximum protection. According to him, the Nigerian Army would defeat banditry and terrorism sooner.
However, Major General Enenche said his team is currently teaching and guiding troops on how to identify suicide bombers across the board.
Too, he also revealed that his team was getting more troops ready and deploying them to strategic locations for actions. He noted that the team will no longer talk about operations but take more actions.
Furthermore, Major General Enenche promised to keep the press and Nigerians posted on new developments. According to him, the bandits not only had ground and air put together but also had other technical sources of launching attacks. In spite of all, the Nigerian Army has continued its fight against banditry and terrorism.
