Nigerian Armed forces did kill nine armed bandits in the wee hours of Tuesday. In fact, there was a gun battle that did last from Mon day night till the early Tuesday morning. The soldiers are deployed in the region to secure the Abuja-Kaduna expressway and the environment.
Nigerian Troops Determined to End Banditry
According to the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the gunfight started after soldiers did notice certain changes. There was a suspected hoodlum with a large herd of rustled cattle. The cattle did try to cross over from the eastern part to the western side of the expressway. Also, the Commissioner did reveal that the herders did claim ownership of the rustled cattle. After the noticed movement, the troops via intelligence did lay ambush on the bandits. And did shoot them on sight.
After the gun battle, the troops did find the corpse of a bandit, 16 dead cows and three cows with injuries. Also, they did find two Tecno mobile phones, one set of desert boots, a set of army camouflage, an empty magazine, seven blankets, ropes and a caftan outfit.
Moreover, the soldiers did also find seven bodies of the dead bandits. Though, search also did reveal that there are more items to recover.
Speaking further, the Commissioner did reveal that more intelligence investigation is going on. Also, said that he will keep updating on more information.

Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar Assures Nigerians
Allegedly, local vigilante members did discover and inform the troops about the hoodlums’ direction of movement. The troops, through the guidance of the vigilante members also did ambush their hideout. And did engage them in another gun battle.
Unfortunately, one of the vigilante members did lose his life in the firefight.
Moments after the firefight, the authorities also found another bandit dead. Also, they did recover several rounds of 7.62 mm special Ammunition.
While confirming the incident, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar further did allege. Mainly, that 71 personnel of the Nigeria forces are now training on insurgency and general insecurity in China. In addition, he did reveal that the personnel on return will be posted to Gombe. To equip the newly established reconnaissance group. He said they will return next week.
Furthermore, Air Marshal Abubakar did assure Nigerians that the group will tackle banditry in the North East region on return.
