Sania Mirza: Chasing the Olympic Dream

34-year-old Sania Mirza believes she is only left with a few years in her tennis career. But, she feels like there is no better approach than to honour her career than with securing a medal in the Olympics, now!

Six-time Grand Slam winner is now gearing up to make another dream come true — to bring home an Olympic medal. In particular, Sania talked to a sports magazine after another long grind at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in Hyderabad, India. She said that the Olympics is at the back of her mind for some time now. Also, that she is back to her routine training and she is practicing for four more hours every day, now.

Moreover, she even mentioned that she is trying to stay healthy and keep fit for the Olympics. It is going to be her fourth Game. It is only then, she mentions how it is only an Olympic medal that is missing from her list of achievements. So, she wants to shut that chapter in life by winning one. Though, she mentions that she will play for a few more years.

Meanwhile, she also talks about how sports did take a backseat in her life. Only, because of the pandemic. Though, she said that even such a crucial time did teach the biggest positive lesson. Mainly, it is to lead a healthy life and appreciate simple things in life. She explained how maintaining health is the most important thing in the world.

Further, she even shared how she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Especially, her son Izhaan that she always struggles to do.
Now, she is to mark her comeback in the forthcoming Doha and Dubai Opens. She added that it is very exciting and makes her feel like it is her career’s first comeback.

Finally, she said that she is looking forward to winning some major events, now.
