Since November 7, Ansu Fati has been out with a knee injury. However, the Barcelona forward has stated that he will never surrender when it comes to his recovery, with more surgery potentially on the way.
Ansu, 18, has admitted that even though this is clearly a tough moment, he has the determination to come out the other side.
According to him, he had a serious injury a few years ago. The teenager revealed on his Instagram page that it was a fractured tibia and fibula. His statement was accompanied by a photo of himself in the gym.
“I went almost a year without being able to play. There were many days of suffering and pain, but also a lot of learning. It helped me to appreciate small details,” he stated.
Further, Ansu noted that with his family and all the professionals who helped him at that time, he promised himself to keep going and work harder than ever. According to him, this is to enable him to get back to doing what he loves the most.
The 18-year-old said it was quite unfortunate that he now had to go through a similar situation, which he would face with the same mentality. Also, he noted that he wanted to thank all those people who followed and supported him on a daily basis.
In his own words: “Football is my life. No matter how many obstacles there are, I will always have the desire of continuing to fight for my dreams.”
Ansu Fati’s injury
According to reports, Ansu has faced complications with his knee. This has caused his initial diagnosis of a four-month absence to be extended. Consequently, it currently seems as though he will miss the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
However, before the injury, the Barcelona forward had played 10 games this season, in which he scored five goals. The last took place at Camp Nou in El Clásico against Real Madrid.
According to records, in total with the first team, Ansu had played 43 times. Also, he had scored 13 goals and provided three assists.
